UPDATING A CLASSIC (SEATTLE, 2016)

NEW KITCHEN/ PANTRY/ BATH/ DECK/ STAIRS

Versatile remodel for a 1913 house of 1200 SF on the main level.  We opened up the kitchen to the dining/living area by removing a wall and creating a bar stool counter.  Kitchen was reconfigured by moving the stairs, allowing for a larger space with a pantry, and access to a new rear deck. The existing bathroom was expanded to allow for a ‘wet area’ with a side-by-side shower and tub.

New Kitchen (montlake, Seattle 2010)

New kitchen was relocated to central location, and two corner walls were opened up on the diagonal. New quartz countertop and walnut island-countertop. Built-in shoe cubbies at rear-door mud room.

Magic Kitchen (greenwood, seattle 2014)

This project is an in-place remodel of main floor kitchen.  New kitchen has magically eliminated a bulky soffit hanging down over one side of the kitchen.  We also waved our wand to open up a large ‘window’ in the wall between the kitchen and dining room, while expanding the kitchen with a second counter.

Indoor/outdoor new kitchen (Bellevue 2016)

The clients had a narrow galley kitchen in their 1968 house, next to some under-utilized space from their living room.  We expanded into that space to create a beautiful modern 16’ x 20’ L-shaped kitchen with a large 4’ x 7’ island.  The island has seating for 3 and a built in cooktop.

We also cut back on the fireplace brick storage area to open up the Dining Room for ten-person table.  At the end of the table is a 10’ opening with a four-panel folding door.  When open it creates the perfect indoor-outdoor setting for larger gatherings.

A new 4’ pantry features sliding barn door hardware, making it easy to access each side of the shelving.

new kitchen (shoreline 2016)

The clients had a large but out-of-date kitchen in their 1947 house, including a large but odd-shaped island.    We gutted the space so we could create a stunning traditional-look 16’ x 16’ L-shaped kitchen. It features a large 4’ x 6’ island with seating for three.  Finishes include a white quartz countertop, dark stained cabinetry, and a light wood-look tile floor.

A kitchen desk was created as a “command center” for family papers, phones, etc.  The existing pantry was rebuilt with floor-to-ceiling shelving. It is accessed by a pocket door for space-saving access.
